About Baadfarten

The History of Baadfarten

Baadfarten was established in the early 1890’s and has operated on Bagsværd Lake, Lyngby Lake and Furesøen ever since.

The beautiful wooden boats are steeped in history and 2 of the 6 boats used today, Prince Christian and Princess Alexandrine, date back to the 19th century.

All three lakes are surrounded by stunning, lush nature whereof several areas are protected. You can either lean back and enjoy the roundtrip in itself or make use of the stops along the way.

The area is filled with great hiking and biking routes as well as small oases where you can enjoy a beverage and/or a cultural experience.

Baadfarten is owned by the three surrounding municipalities; Lyngby-Taarbæk, Gladsaxe and Furesø and is operated by Stromma Danmark A/S, who also operates and owns Canal Tours in Copenhagen. Stromma is the leading provider of experiences within sightseeing in Northen Europe. Read more about Stromma Danmark here.
